Let's Learn Italian

Italian For Toddlers

Looking for a basic Italian for toddlers course for you and / or your child?

Welcome to Let's Learn Italian! I happen to have a child myself and created Let's Learn Italian!'s Italian for toddlers audio course based on my experience raising my son bilingual. I grew up speaking Italian, and it's always been important to me to be able to pass the Italian language on to my own child. I am a firm believer that whether you are fluent in a language or a beginner, there is much that you can do to give your child the gift of a second language. One of those things is certainly NOT to imitate the way that languages are typically presented to children in the US: Either they aren't taught at all, or, children are no longer children and have passed up that perfect timing window when our brains are extremely receptive to language and languages. Timing is key! As is presentation. Let's Learn Italian!'s Italian for toddlers course is designed to imitate the natural and effortless way that children pick up their first language, listening and repeating the most common and basic everyday phrases we learn in our first language.

Basic Italian Vocabulary

Looking to build or enhance a basic Italian vocabulary? Let's Learn Italian! has you covered!

Italian Language Courses

What are the best Italian language courses?

Great question, and one that only you can answer as we all learn differently and what works for someone else, may not work for you. If you feel, however, completely overwhelmed by the number of choices there are in Italian language courses, here are some key elements that we at Let's Learn Italian! try to incorporate in own Italian language courses that we find to be key in making a great choice. The most important factor is completely subjective: Do you like it? Does it engage you? Do you enjoy listening to it? If not, then no matter who recommended it, loved it, or how wonderfully it's rated, you won't stick with it. Second, if your goal is to speak Italian, and not just memorize a few set phrases, find a course that focuses on the verbs and offers full-sentence, practical examples. And third, make sure the course offers enough time for you to repeat what you hear. Whichever course you choose, we wish you the best of luck with your Italian language journey!

Learn How to Speak Italian

"Is it impossible to learn how to speak Italian as an adult?"

So many people as me this question. I agree that as adults we are at a bit of a disadvantage when attempting to learn how to speak Italian, or any second language. If we are Italian-Americans seeking to learn Italian, it is easy to lament that our parents or grandparents never (and should have) taught us as children. Well, as an Italian-American who had the fortune to grow up with Italian and who has had the pleasure of helping countless adults of all linguistic and ethnic backgrounds become conversational and proficient in Italian, here are my recommendations. First of all, listen! Italian music, television, radio via computer, Italian friends and conversation groups if you can find them. Rather than grammar books, lean toward audio courses give you more listening practice, but that also give you time to repeat what is said, so you are taking the next step by speaking Italian yourself. Third, I have found that those who learn how to speak Italian with the most ease make Italian their daily habit even if for ten minutes. And last but not least, keep it fun!

Learn Italian

Learn Italian quickly, easily and effectively with Let's Learn Italian! audio courses.

Most people want to learn Italian to be able to speak the language rather than just read and write it. We understand this is the most difficult aspect of learning a language, being able to understand and to speak it. When asked, "What is the easiest way to learn Italian?" we recommend methods that imitate how we all learned our first language, without books, of course, and by repeating everything that was said to us. Ideally, we would spend a year or two in Italy, but that not being possible for most of us, Let's Learn Italian!'s goal is to offer you tools to make learning Italian natural, fun, and effective and that you can use in your everyday life while driving, cleaning, working out or relaxing at home.
